Role Overview:
- As
a resident engineer for a customer, you will lead the development of in-vehicle
infotainment (IVI) functions, including media, radio, connectivity, HVAC,
navigation, and HMI control.
- You
will manage product development through coordination with on-site (domestic)
and offshore (overseas) functional development teams, ensuring timely delivery
and integration of all deliverables.
- You
will also act as a technical liaison between the client and our client’s
company UX/UI design, system design, and software development teams.
Business Content / Responsibilities:
- IVI
Feature Owner: Lead the development of IVI features including media, radio,
connectivity (Bluetooth/Wi-Fi), HVAC, navigation, voice, and app frameworks.
- Stakeholder
Collaboration & Support: Serve as the primary technical liaison between the
customer, Tier 1 supplier technical teams, and our client's company internal
cross-functional teams to drive product development.
- Team
Leadership: Coach and mentor functional team members, assign tasks, conduct
design reviews, and perform coding reviews across multiple software domains.
Development Planning &
Implementation:
- Create
and maintain development plans for various functions.
- Establish
delivery roadmaps for milestones.
- Identify
remaining tasks, manage schedules, and provide regular progress reports to the
customer.
- Problem
Solving: Work with internal and external stakeholders to prioritize and resolve
product bugs and issues.
- Innovation
& Optimization: Utilize the latest IVI platforms to improve system
performance, enhance user experience (UX), and differentiate products.
Application Conditions
Requirements — Must Have:
- Experience
and knowledge in the design and development of in-vehicle infotainment systems,
their functions (audio, video, navigation, connectivity, etc.), and automotive
standards.
- Experience
designing and developing software application specifications for infotainment
systems.
- Hands-on
experience with CarPlay, Android Auto, and application certification processes.
- Strong
understanding of cybersecurity and OTA frameworks.
- Participation
in design reviews (verifying compliance with specifications and user
requirements).
- Ability
to decide specifications and document implementation guidelines.
- Excellent
communication skills.
- Knowledge
of diagnostic tools and protocols (CAN, CANalyzer, CANoe, UDS).
- Knowledge
of intra-ECU and inter-ECU communication.
- Knowledge
of fail-safe analysis.
