Cluster/Meter Development Lead Engineer

Role Overview:
- As a resident engineer for a client, you will lead the development of in-vehicle cluster/meter and head-up display (HUD) systems.
- This role requires advanced expertise in functional requirements, vehicle architecture, product validation, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong communication skills in Japanese and English are essential for working with both the client and our company’s technical teams.

Responsibilities:
- Drive development of cluster/meter and HUD systems aligned with vehicle architecture and OEM requirements.
- Translate high-level vehicle requirements into detailed system specifications and functional architectures.
- Develop systems in collaboration with software/hardware teams and test departments of the customer and Tier 1 suppliers.
- Plan system interfaces, communication protocols, and implementation; support system integration and resolve system-level issues.
- Review Tier 1 supplier deliverables (product specifications, software modules, test results) from concept to results to confirm compliance with specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct product evaluations such as HIL, SIL, and E2E tests to verify conformance to required specifications.
- Verify compliance with functional safety (ISO 26262) and various automotive standards and regulatory requirements.
- Report development progress and manage risks related to product development milestones.
- Clarify Tier 1 supplier requirements, answer questions, and resolve issues throughout the development cycle.
Application Requirements
Must Have:
- Product development experience and knowledge in the automotive industry.
- Experience in cluster/meter or HUD product and function development.
- Practical skills in requirements analysis, functional architecture, interface definition, traceability verification, and validation.
- Experience in cross-departmental communication, schedule planning/management, and development involving Tier 1 supplier management.
- Knowledge of inter-ECU communication (CAN, CAN-FD, automotive Ethernet).
- Understanding of functional safety (ISO 26262) and automotive standards, including reliability requirements for clusters/meters and HUDs.
- Knowledge of onboard diagnostics, fault detection, error logging, and troubleshooting for automotive ECUs.
- Bilingual communication skills in English and Japanese, plus strong communication ability.
- Leadership and problem-solving skills.
Language Skill:
- English: Business level
- Japanese: JLPT N2 or above
