Description:

Mselect is looking to hire a System Engineer for a national oil and gas operator in Doha, Qatar. Candidates must have a minimum of 7-10 years of progressive combined technical experience in ELV Systems, related standards, and protocols. Fluency in English is a must.

Job Purpose:

The CCTV security system engineer's primary role is to direct, supervise, and monitor the CCTV maintenance support contractor's day-to-day maintenance activities (both preventive and corrective) in HQ in Doha. Also, to coordinate with various stakeholders from FM and ICT teams (as a single point of contact) for the permits and access approvals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The incumbent logistically and technically coordinates and works with ICT divisions/units, corporate project managers, and other departments and external entities (as deemed necessary) to deliver services and meet the CCTV Incident SLA of 7 days for 24x7 availability of CCTV field cameras, in addition to an integral role in the operation, management, administration and support of existing and future CCTV cameras in HQ
  • To ensure that all CCTV Incident SDS are attended, coordinated with the CCTV maintenance support contractor teams, and closed within the 7 days SLA
  • To supervise, monitor, and manage the CCTV contractor teams and their day-to-day maintenance activities
  • To coordinate, assist, support, and arrange the necessary permits and access approvals from relevant stakeholders (FM department) to carry out the day-to-day maintenance activities of CCTV cameras in HQ, Doha
  • To review/update the CCTV as-built documentation and asset list to maintain the current as-built status regularly
  • Coordinate, and liaise with ICT teams (CCTV Server/Application and Network Security teams) to resolve issues/faults related to application and network infrastructure
  • To support various pre-planned and reactive maintenance tasks (preventive and corrective) encompassing CCTV security systems in HQ facility
  • Coordinate, and liaise with Telecom stores for issuance of CCTV cameras and accessories spares for deployment at the site as per the established process
  • To prepare, and process all documentation and records including mandated administrative works related to CCTV camera maintenance support in the HQ
  • To review and provide technical feedback on assigned technical documentation related to CCTV security system by assessment and alignment of defined project plan, specification, or statement of work with division vision and support plans for replacement of old/obsoleted CCTV cameras to ensure and maintain current compatible supported camera models in HQ
  • To review, approve and process the CCTV preventive maintenance reports, fault reports, and associated Release Order and Service entry sheets
  • Ensure that the CCTV maintenance support contractor teams work in accordance with Safety and Security policies
  • As a discipline engineer responsible for the provision of the required quality technical services
  • Carry out concept definition and engineering studies, design scope and preparation of engineering documents as per approved standards/procedures
  • Plan and coordinate activities of a team of engineers and technicians for providing technical services for operating and maintaining CCTV services 24x7, including review of execution strategies and complying with the operational process/procedures
Requirements:
  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in IT/Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or an equivalent discipline field
  • 7-10 years of progressive combined technical experience in ELV Systems, related standards, and protocols with a minimum of 4 to 7+ years of professional hands-on experience in the design, operation, and support of ELV systems and relevant experience in large buildings, infrastructure, and civil projects in ICT and ELV
  • Experience and knowledge of International Standards, Specifications, Testing and commissioning of ELV systems and coordination with other engineering disciplines
  • Preferably technical training certifications in one or more areas of the following technologies: CCTV, ACS, BMS, DIDS, AV/VC systems, ANPR, RBS, RFID, QMS, VMS, PGS, PMS, etc
  • Experience in review and approval of Contractor submittals, shop drawings and method statements to ensure high quality of Works in compliance with design drawings and specifications
  • Effective communication and team building skills including presentation, report writing and management of meetings
  • Experienced in resolving technical challenges related to relevant Engineering work and adjacent discipline issues
  • Knowledge of IP systems/Networking is preferable
  • Ability to prioritize and conclude multiple tasks in a timely manner to meet scheduled deadlines alongside unscheduled urgent activities
  • Ability to coordinate with and promote teamwork amongst stakeholders, co-workers and external organizations
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to write technical blueprints, high- and low-level design documents, standards, processes, procedures, manuals, feasibility studies, and tendering proposals
  • Advanced Project management skills including setting up objectives, compiling reports, identifying priorities, and selecting the right team members
  • Analytical and methodical thought process skills for the goal of analysing complex technical issues, making sound engineering decisions and executing effective actions
  • Technical knowledge of telecommunication infrastructure core technologies and designs, experience with telecommunication infrastructure hardware installations and configurations, knowledge of IP convergence systems and services, PTT-grade telecommunication systems, services implementation and services, emerging infrastructure services, and general industrial-grade telecommunication technologies and systems
  • Good understanding of service providers’ technologies and integration of telecommunication products and services
  • Strong personal computer office applications, verbal, and communication skills
