Position Overview
- We are seeking a Director of Survey & Right-of-Way Services to lead and expand our survey and ROW practice. This senior leadership role will oversee all aspects of survey operations and right-of-way engineering, with a primary focus on INDOT topographic surveys, legal surveys, and right-of-way plan development.
- The ideal candidate will bring 20+ years of professional surveying experience, deep technical knowledge, and strong leadership skills to guide a high-performing team. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, field crews, and agency contacts to ensure accurate and timely deliverables.
Key
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership to the Survey and Right-of-Way department, including staff development, resource planning, and quality control.
- Oversee INDOT topographic surveys, boundary surveys, ALTA/NSPS surveys, legal descriptions, and right-of-way engineering.
- Lead the preparation and review of LCRs, field notes, survey base maps, plats, and ROW acquisition documents.
- Serve as the firm’s expert on surveying standards, INDOT procedures, and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with field crews and CAD technicians to ensure accuracy and efficiency in deliverables.
- Manage client relationships and provide technical support during proposal development and project execution.
- Work with leadership to grow the department and pursue new business opportunities.
