We are seeking a Buyer for a manufacturing company in Littleton, MA. The Buyer plays a critical role on the Supply Chain team, responsible for procuring components, materials, and services essential to the design and manufacture of complex electromechanical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Source, quote, negotiate, and issue purchase orders for a diverse range of commodities, including custom machined parts, cable and wire harnesses, PCBs, subassemblies, and specialized manufacturing services.
  • Ensure materials and services comply with all applicable regulatory and quality standards (e.g., FDA, ISO 13485).
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships; conduct performance reviews, vendor visits, and improvement initiatives.
  • Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Production to support prototype builds, manage part obsolescence, and implement engineering change orders (ECOs).
  • Perform cost analysis, contribute to make/buy decisions, and support cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Monitor and report supplier performance in quality, delivery, cost, and responsiveness metrics.
  • Expedite critical materials to maintain production schedules and minimize downtime.
  • Participate in root cause and corrective action activities for supplier-related issues.
  • Maintain purchasing records, documentation, and compliance with internal quality and regulatory systems.
  • Compile and present purchasing metrics, cost savings, and procurement reports.
  • Support internal and external audits as required.

Position summary:

Responsible for leading, overseeing, or performing engineering design using advanced knowledge of general engineering principles and practices to interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate assignments with limited supervision. Acts as a technical advisor and mentor to less experienced engineers.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design for multiple concurrent projects and tasks for your discipline.
  • Assist Project Manager with consultative services to the client by understanding client requirements, recommendations, and solutions to enhance client experience.
  • Attends client meetings or interviews in support of project manager.
  • Plan, schedule, conduct or coordinate detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope.
  • Design projects using advanced discipline knowledge, client specifications and guidelines using design software and drawing tools.
  • Develop solutions to complex problems and share best practices/lessons learned on a wide scale (company, client, or industry)
  • Defining parameters, reviewing, and presenting alternative studies based on experience and advanced engineering knowledge.
  • Prepare or lead the preparation of engineering documents, technical reports, memos, etc.
  • Evaluate and collaborate on discipline’s workflow and standard operating procedures to increase efficiency.
  • Perform and check design computations.
  • Quality review of project design in accordance with the Project Management Plan.
  • Provide cross disciplinary and constructability reviews on complex projects.
  • Providing input to project manager and section head with scope development, work hours for tasks, and project schedule creation for discipline.
  • Manage and lead work to meet provided project schedule and budget relevant to discipline.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with team members and other disciplines to ensure project completion by the defined deadline and established quality.
  • Delegate project work to design engineers, coordinate project requirements, and perform quality reviews.
  • Mentor and coach on technical knowledge to advance their skill development and advise on project design.
  • Actively participating and contributing (presenting, publishing papers, etc.)  in industry organizations, publications, and/or conversations.

  • Experience working with local clients at the county and state level

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed within a general office environment 95% of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
  • Field work is required on occasions where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs.) may be required as needed.

MUST HAVE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited engineering program.

Electrical Technician Responsibilities:

  • Completion of allocated planned maintenance across site, both electrical and mechanical
  • Respond to and analyse unscheduled downtime, with the ability to correct faults within a timely manner
  • Working both mechanically and electrically on autonomous conveyor systems, storage retrieval systems, sortation equipment with associated electrical controls and any hydraulic/pneumatic systems
  • Electrically you will have responsibility for fault finding on PLC systems, including working on sensors, drives, inverters, motors, control panels and associated control systems along with blueprint/schematic reading
  • Mechanically, you will have responsibility for reading and interpreting assembly drawings, hydraulic & pneumatic work, working across belts, gearboxes, and chains
  • Involvement in the ongoing care of machinery including strip, overhaul and rebuild of the machinery to optimise performance

Experience & requirements for the role:

  • Worked on PLC systems, sensors, motors, inverters, control panels, hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes previously
  • Electrical bias
  • Previously worked with electrical currents, AC/DC drives, and up to 120v
  • Worked within a fast paced, high-volume environment previously – FMCG, automated warehousing, food production, packaging or pharmaceuticals would be an advantageous transfer
  • At least 1 years’ experience in a Maintenance Technician/Maintenance Engineer/Electrician role within an automated environment
  • Eligibility to work in the Netherlands without visa sponsorship
  • Ability to speak and write in English
