Mselect is looking to hire a Senior Construction Engineer for a national oil and gas operator in Doha, Qatar. Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in relevant construction and installation activities of the Oil & Gas industry. Fluency in English is a must.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • To generate Construction Work Packages from detailed engineering deliverables in details from concept to mechanical completion
  • Monitoring of construction contractor performance to ensure full compliance with approved designs and schedules

Qualification:

  • Qualification BSc in engineering or equivalent is preferred although lesser qualified candidates with extensive/relevant experience instead of qualification will be considered
  • Conversant with international codes and standards

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in relevant construction and installation activities of the Oil & Gas industry
  • Onshore/Offshore exposure to working within live oil and gas process plants
  • Extensive Brownfield experience
  • The majority of the above experience should be working within a multicultural environment
  • 5 years’ experience in Engineering & Construction projects preferred
  • Fluent in the English language

  • The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background (geotechnical, structural, or pavement-related) and a proven track record in field inspection and quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct on-site inspections of roads, bridges, and municipal infrastructure projects.
  • Ensure compliance with AASHTO and ASTM standards for construction and pavement inspection.
  • Monitor foundation installations for bridges and retaining walls; prior geotechnical inspection experience is a plus.

  • Utilize nuclear density gauges and electrical density gauges for field compaction testing (a plus).

  • Strong knowledge of AASHTO and ASTM standards related to construction inspection.
  • Experience with geotechnical foundation inspections (preferred).

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and materials testing results.
