About Us:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Civil Construction Project Manager to plan and supervise a wide range of field projects from start to finish.  This person will organize and oversee construction procedures and ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient manner

Job Summary:

The Project Manager must be well versed in all construction methods and procedures and able to coordinate a team of professionals of different disciplines to achieve the best results.  The ideal candidate will have an analytical mind and great organizational skills with a goal of ensuring all projects are delivered on time in compliance with all safety and quality requirements, without exceeding the budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the overall planning and coordination of civil construction projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation
  • Determine the resources needed (manpower, equipment, and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, etc. to determine the specifications of the project
  • Monitor and enforce safety procedures, compliance with regulations, and quality control standards
  • Review and approve project documentation, including contracts, RFIs, change orders, and progress reports
  • Plan all construction operations and scheduling intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met
  • Supervise the work of laborers, mechanics, etc. and provide guidance when needed
  • Provide regular updates to senior management, architects and owners on project status and progress
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report any issues

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • Proven experience managing large-scale civil projects
  • Must be able to read blueprints.
  • In depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles
  • Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards
  • Good knowledge of MS Office
  • Familiarity with construction/project management software.  Procore, Foundation, Bid 2 Win and Trimble is a plus
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • A team player with leadership abilities
  • PMP or equivalent certification is a plus

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop new tires to meet the optimal performance required for customer approvals.
  • Maintain and enhance the performance of existing tires to meet customer expectations.
  • Develop test plans to evaluate tires.
  • Analyze tire data to make tire design recommendations.
  • Work closely with KRDC development engineers on OEM and Replacement projects.
  • Travel to plants to assist in new tire development and manufacturing as required.
  • Participation in Tire related organizations, i.e. TRA, ETRTO, TMC, USTMA, RMA…
  • Interface directly with OEM and internal customers.
  • Lead tire development programs with minimal supervision.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • The ability to work with cross-functional and international teams is a must.
  • CATIA V5 proficiency.
  • Basic Tire FEA.
  • Domestic and international travel.
  • Knowledge of plant-related activities concerning component preparation, tire building, and curing.
  • The ability to work directly with plant production teams and process engineers.
  • Knowledge of regulatory issues concerning tires.
  • Basic knowledge of compounding as it relates to tire performance.
  • Advanced knowledge of tire construction.
  • Ability to design and optimize mold profiles and constructions independently.
  • Intermediate knowledge of tread pattern design and ability to optimize tread patterns.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • BS or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
  • 7+ years of tire development experience required.

  • Communicate directly with other company R&D centers as required.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • The ability to work with cross-functional and international teams is a must.
  • Knowledge of plant-related activities concerning compound mixing, extrusion, calendaring, tire building and curing processes is a must.
  • The ability to work directly with plant compound specialists, production teams and process engineers is a must.
  • Experience and knowledge concerning polymers, fillers, and reinforcements is a must.
  • A strong understanding of sustainability efforts in the tire industry is required
  • Domestic and international travel is required.  A current passport is required.
  • Lean, Quality and On Time Delivery approach Skills and experience are required.
  • Self-managed, dynamic, and willing to make the extra effort to push for success is required.
  • Knowledge of regulatory issues concerning materials and tires is strongly desirable.
  • Proficiency in the statistical design of experiments is preferred.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Knowledge of tire design and/or standards are required.
  • Knowledge of OE product development is required.
