Description

What you’ll do:

  • Tear down, determine extent of troubles, repair damaged electrical or mechanical mechanism or replace worn or defective parts and reassemble following standard and prescribed safety regulations.
  • Need a basic understanding of PLC logic
  • Adjust equipment to required specification and check to assure effective operation.
  • Check sequence of machine cycle, determine type of machine malfunction, make all necessary repairs applying machine repair theory along with electrical theory.
  • Perform electrical test operations.
  • Work from complex schematic diagrams, manuals and testing procedures.
  • Troubleshoot all defective printed circuit assembly boards.
  • Perform similar or associated electrical or mechanical duties as directed.
  • Detect and report all unusual cases to proper supervision.
  • Use of judgment to comply with instructions or prescribed routines and to make decisions

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution
  • Journeymen or three (3) years of manufacturing maintenance experience in an industrial electrical/mechanical trade
  • Experience with ladder logic circuit diagrams, industrial motor control schematics, and blueprint reading.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without Company sponsorship.
  • Must currently reside within 50 miles of Syracuse, NY facility

Preferred qualifications:

  • CNC Maintenance experience
  • Background in machining and electrical equipment
  • Two-year degree in electronics with mechanical experience/Military electronics experience.
  • Experience with hydraulics

Position Overview

  • We are seeking a Director of Survey & Right-of-Way Services to lead and expand our survey and ROW practice. This senior leadership role will oversee all aspects of survey operations and right-of-way engineering, with a primary focus on INDOT topographic surveys, legal surveys, and right-of-way plan development.
  • The ideal candidate will bring 20+ years of professional surveying experience, deep technical knowledge, and strong leadership skills to guide a high-performing team. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, field crews, and agency contacts to ensure accurate and timely deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership to the Survey and Right-of-Way department, including staff development, resource planning, and quality control.
  • Oversee INDOT topographic surveys, boundary surveys, ALTA/NSPS surveys, legal descriptions, and right-of-way engineering.
  • Lead the preparation and review of LCRs, field notes, survey base maps, plats, and ROW acquisition documents.
  • Serve as the firm’s expert on surveying standards, INDOT procedures, and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with field crews and CAD technicians to ensure accuracy and efficiency in deliverables.
  • Manage client relationships and provide technical support during proposal development and project execution.
  • Work with leadership to grow the department and pursue new business opportunities.

  • Works with clients to pursue project funding through available funding agencies while following funding agency practices and policies.
  • Prepare and contribute to project proposals, change orders, client contract and communication pertaining to specific projects
  • Prepare roadway design plans for a variety of civil engineering projects.
  • Perform corridor modeling using Autodesk Civil3D
  • Prepare construction plans and details using AutoCAD and Civil3D
  • Prepare design and quantity calculations
  • Prepare reports and other documentation
  • Perform site visits and inspections.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
