We are looking for a Bridge CAD Technician & Inspector to create design drawings for bridge projects and inspect bridges. The candidate will have the opportunity to create drawings for new and rehabilitated bridge projects of various size and scope. Overview

We are looking for a Bridge CAD Technician & Inspector to create design drawings for bridge projects and inspect bridges. The candidate will have the opportunity to create drawings for new and rehabilitated bridge projects of various size and scope. Additionally, the candidate will initially assist with onsite bridge inspections but, over time, will lead onsite bridge inspections.

Duties & Requirements

  • Create drawings using computer-assisted drafting (AutoCAD).
  • Follow client, Department of Transportation (DOT), and internal codes and standards of practice.
  • Draft and review plan sheets for bridge construction projects.
  • Produce plan details (typical sections, reinforcement bar bending diagrams, reinforced concrete details, steel beam details, etc.)
  • Work and coordinate with roadway, water, environmental, survey, and utility engineers.
  • Assist with onsite bridge inspections, data entry, and bridge inspection reports.
  • Manage bridge inspection equipment, schedule bridge inspection personnel etc.
  • Eventually lead onsite bridge inspections.

Job Description:

  • Project manager will be responsible for developing detailed project plan to track progress to upper management.
  • Previous experience working with a cad designer, pricing, ordering components, approving drawing layouts and knowledge of fluid power or/ and flow will help.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customers with proper updates
  • Create installation and shipping schedules
  • Order materials off the drawings that were approved by the customer
  • Travel to the job site for pre-construction meetings and or check the installation crews work and check for interference in the field.
  • Travel to the job site for startup of equipment, verify air readings and train customers operators.

Skills:

  • Must be familiar with OSHA safety regulations
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Computer knowledge of CAD, Project Management, Excel and Word

  • This position is responsible for diagnosing and repairing electrical related problems in accordance with standard practices of the electrical trade to include troubleshooting skills with the ability to repair and/or instruct others on necessary repairs with little to no supervision. Demonstrated ability to perform all essential duties and responsibilities of an Electrical Technician. Knowledge and demonstrated ability of strong Electrical, CNC, and Robotic experience. Knowledge and demonstrated ability of basic electrical formulas applicable to the job. Demonstrated ability to understand and troubleshoot solid-state devices.
  • Demonstrated ability to reprogram ladder logic and make effective use of software troubleshooting and diagnostics. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair all major problems with in-house equipment. Requires flexibility to work overtime to support production needs. Must maintain good attendance, follow all safety policies and procedures, and maintain a positive team environment. Must be capable of assuming control of the maintenance department in the absence of the supervisor/group leader.

QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; OR
  • 5+ years of related experience and/or training; OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
